Hong Kong is a member of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). It is committed to promoting effective implementation of legal, regulatory and operational measures for combating money laundering, terrorist financing and other related threats to the integrity of the international financial system.
Both the Companies Ordinance (Cap 622) and the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap 615) provide for enforcement relating to the requirement for beneficial owners (significant controllers), the licensing of Trust or Company Service Provider (TCSP) and other relevant compliances.
